RECREATION AND LEISURE

Wandsworth has an amazing collection of great parks, sports facilities and Europe’s largest outdoor pool at Tooting Bec Lido. King George Park, Wandsworth Park and the River Wandle are great green spaces too.

The Thames Path follows most of the riverside through Wandsworth from Battersea to Putney, offering a lovely traffic free route with stunning views across the river and a brilliant jogging path.

Not a jogger ? Don’t worry every sport is catered for and Battersea Ironsides Rugby, The Spencer cricket and Magdalen Park tennis clubs are fabulous.

LOCAL TRANSPORT LINKS

Transport links are superb and set to get even better with the Northern line extension and increased river bus services that have arrived.

Underground Clapham South, Tooting Bec and Balham underground stations (Northern Line) provide connections into both the City and the West End. Good transport links at Wandsworth Common Overground station allows quick access into Victoria/Waterloo via Clapham Junction.

Wandsworth offers a range of fast public transport options into the centre of London. There are numerous mainline rail stations in the district and underground stations at Balham and Tooting Bec.

Many bus routes also run through the area so no matter what your destination within London, there will be a public transport option to suit you. You can reach the hubs on the eastern side of the borough on the Northern Line and the western side on the District Line. And then there’s the Overground. In between, there’s a huge network of buses, many of which run 24 hours a day, the 319 to Sloane Square is less than ten minutes to Chelsea. And then there are the trains. You can get to Gatwick Airport in as little as 30 minutes from Clapham Junction.

It’s a 10 minute drive to Chelsea and quick access to A3/M25.
